Construction management and home builder specialists Bob and Kathe Tortorice founded the construction company, Building Alternatives, Inc., in Chester, New Hampshire, in 1986. Unlike the general contractor’s role of quoting on your specifications, our owners changed the process by giving you control over construction. We listen to your plans and provide you with options and cost comparison choices to help you make informed decisions.

Bob Tortorice

Our owner and head contractor, Bob Tortorice, has more than 35 years of experience in residential and commercial construction. He took up Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering Technology in Newark College of Engineering, and finished his Master of Business Administration degree in Plymouth State College. Aside from being listed in Who’s Who™ in 1997 and 1999, he also holds the following titles:

Certified Energy Star Home Builder

• Master Chief Constructionman of the US Naval Reserve, Seabee’s (retired)
• 
Ambassador and Diplomat of the Manchester, New Hampshire Chamber of Commerce  1986-1996
• President of the North Country Home Builders and Remodelers Association, NH (2007-present)
• President of Southern New Hampshire Home Builders and Remodelers Association (1996, 1997, and 1998)

Kathe Tortorice

Co-Founder of Building Alternatives, Inc., Kathe Tortorice has more than 20 years of experience in program and financial management. She took up Bachelor of Science in Economics and Finance and finished her Master of Business Administration degree at Babson College. She was also a member of the Chester School Board from 1995 to 1997, and was part of the building committee for the Chester School District in the same years. Skilled in process design and strategic planning in the computer industry, as well as program financial management and estimating in the defense industry. Kathe also does design, contracts, financials and project management for Building Alternatives.
